The major occupation of the people of Kalika, Sunkoshi Rule municipality-7 is agriculture. Like the other community of Sindhupalchok, women are mostly involved in agriculture activities.
With the financial support from Oxfam, Gramin Mahila Srijanshil Pariwar implemented 'Nepal Earthquake Recovery Project' and provided thresher which made the women life comfortable.
It was very difficult for women to harvest and processing the millet which required more hard work and time.
Gramin Mahila Srijanshil Pariwar, considering the same issues provided thresher to the women group. Community people are benefitted as thresher can work a task in 45 minutes equivalent of 3 days work of a human.
The community people have formed the threshing machine management committee for its operation and maintenance. The group has begun to deposit the collection in their bank account. Netra Khadka, in this regard, says, " the thresher has become like a blessing for us. It has made our life comfortable.
