The devastating earthquake badly affected Sindhupalchok and anyone who visits this district becomes emotional and promises to help the community people. But there are others also who do not respect human value norms and ethics. For them, this plight is an opportunity.

The same was the incident in Karthali VDC of Sindhupalchok district. The plight of this VDC was also the same as other- destroyed and people are psychologically traumatized. Some organizations were distributing the relief, guided by the human emotions and values but there were others too, who had different intended desires.
People regard the people and the organizations that bring them as the saviour who is to support them even in such a difficult situation.

There was an organization in Karthali that distributed the relief. It even convinced the community people that they will provide good education and shelter to their children. The poor community people easily convinced and agreed to send their children. In the beginning, 6 parents became agreed to send their children.

The children Mohan BK ( class 5), Ram BK( class), Kanchha BK ( class 4) Nirdosh Tamang, Dorje Tamang ( class 3) Lopsang Tamang ( class). All these children are the resident of ward no 1 and 7. These children were handover to the people who gave relief grant. In the meantime, they said that they are representatives of an organization named Subhadra foundation.

When they send their children, the parents became happy imagining the bright future of their children. Others community people were searching the 'sponsor' like them.
GMSP was also making people aware of the issue of trafficking and slavery during that time. As that period was emergency, GMSP /FTS program was not only limited only in its working VDC by thinking that every sector is the most vulnerable of trafficking. GMSP was rapidly conducting counselling day by day in several places and VDC. In this process, one-day GMSP reached to Karthali VDC. It assembled the people and began to heal the trauma caused by disaster by counselling. GMSP also counselled them on how to be safe during the disaster and how to manage the post-disaster situation. During the course of counselling, GMSP talked about them the trafficking and slavery during this period because traffickers can come in the village in different forms and take our children and family members in the name of study and employment and so many things.
When GMSP talked about this, community people felt like they have just awakened from the deep slumber. They told about the case of children to GMSP staffs.

After returning, GMSP reported this situation to the District Child Welfare Board of Sindhupalchok and with the coordination with this organization, 3 children (Mohan BK ( class 5), Ram BK ( class), Kanchha BK ( class 4) are rescued. The rest of the three did not want to come to their house, as a result, they were in the same place. Because the children who are in the foundation said that they do not want to go their house. The reason behind this is that no matter how much difficulties they have to face there, at least they can be safe from the earthquake. However, they have to do so many things such as take care of the cow, work in vegetable farming and so on.

When the parents knew about this situation, the parents themselves have been ready to take initiation for the rescue and GMSP has been coordinating with other organization for their rescue.

(Note: The name of the children in this story is imaginary for their confidentiality)
